Nathalia Gadelha was only 17 when she earned her private pilot’s license while attending West Boca Raton High School in Florida.
\nShe couldn’t legally drive a car on her own yet, but she could fly an airplane.<\/p>\n

It was an accomplishment that made her proud.
\n\u201cI definitely do brag because people say, \u2018Oh, you can\u2019t drive,\u2019 and I\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah, but I can fly,\u2019\u201d she told a local television station in 2023.
\nThree years later, Nathalia had earned additional aviation qualifications and was pursuing the career she had dreamed about since she was a teenager.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, November 1, tragedy struck.
\nNathalia was serving as co-pilot aboard a Learjet 60 traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when the aircraft plunged toward the ground and crashed in a residential area of Palm Beach County, Florida.
\nHer mother, Camila, and her stepfather confirmed her identity to the New York Post.<\/p>\n

The young pilot had previously shared photographs celebrating her aviation achievements, including a March 2026 post expressing gratitude to God after reaching another milestone.
\nHer dream was to become a commercial airline pilot.
\nShe was just beginning her adult life, building the future she had worked toward since high school.<\/p>\n

Now, her family is mourning a young woman whose determination had already taken her into the skies.
\nFederal investigators are working to determine what caused the aircraft to crash.
