Animation shows Learjet’s rapid high-altitude dive.
A private jet bound for the Bahamas crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday afternoon, killing all nine people on board.
Dashcam footage posted to social media by an eyewitness showed the aircraft falling toward the ground. Unfortunately, it exploded into a fireball, narrowly missing cars and homes. It created a huge crater in the ground, and power lines were knocked down in the area.
As we know so far, the only people to lose their lives were the ones on the aircraft. In the aftermath, many experts have come forward to offer their opinions on what happened.
The latest is not exactly an expert, but rather a generated visual showing what happened in the sky.
How the Animation Illustrates the Bombardier Learjet’s Final Descent
One post on X details the possible causes of a Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday.
The Bombardier Learjet lost about 26,000 feet in roughly 70 seconds during a near-vertical dive. Unfortunately, it killed all 9 aboard after the crew reported light icing and moderate turbulence.
Minutes before the tragedy, the pilot had asked to climb higher, but the air is so thin “that a jet’s safe speed range narrows significantly.” However, if the plane slows down too much, the wings won’t be able to generate enough lift.
Everything that could’ve gone wrong on that private jet did exactly that, and now nine people are no longer alive. The NTSB said in a post on X that it is launching a go-team to investigate the cause of the crash in Lake Worth Beach, Florida.
